Understanding Carbs
Carbohydrates are the body’s main fuel source which can be found in numerous types of foods.
They can be found in:
- fruits
- vegetables
- grains
- nuts
- seeds
- dairy
- sugary foods
- alcohol
Most people think of carbs as only bread, pasta and potatoes.
Sue’s Scenario:
Sue: I am not sure why I am not losing weight, I have cut out all carbs.
Voice: OK, so what do your daily meals consist of?
Sue: Breakfast I love me some muesli & Yogurt. Sometimes I sprinkle some jelly beans over it just for added flavor.
Voice: You love fruit as well?
Sue: Oh, I adore fruit, especially bananas.
Voice: Do you eat bread, Pasta or potatoes?
Sue: Oh God no, I told you, I don’t eat carbs.
Saying that you quit carbohydrates, is like Sue saying that she quit all alcohol and sex, but still accepts lite beer for blowjobs.

Thank you for sharing this! I always get so internally heated when I hear someone talking about swearing off carbs. You can’t avoid carbs unless you’re eating straight oil and steak. Your article is perfect. I had to laugh over carbs being the blame for getting lost while hiking. Glucose = life.
When I first tried to lose weight I also had no idea of the different carbs and what functions they played within our bodies – This is probably why I struggled to lose weight in the beginning. It was only when I really wanted to lose weight that I started Googling everything, and really, knowledge is power.
My main goal here is just to try educated people and help them skip that initial stage that I struggled with.

Hahaha you’re too much but I love it! I’ve never had to cut out carbs and each time I hear people say they have I just roll my eyes. I used to run A LOT and for me going without carbs would make me very unhappy and not very productive. I live by the “everything in moderation” mantra. Best thing ever.
