6 Things that will genuinely make you happier

Here are 6 things that you should try to do on a regular basis, or at least try make time for them once in a while.

1. Learn to say no

Happiness is learning to say no. If they ask you to go to the post office and it doesn’t form part of your job, say no.

2. Stop comparing yourself to others

Be yourself. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to somebody else.

3. Take more naps

Naps are life. If you are not a serial napper, then at least try to get an hour in where you read a book or listen to a podcast.

4. Eat more good food

Yes, eat as healthy as possible, but if Pizza makes you happy, work it into your diet. You can’t live off dry chicken and broccoli for the rest of your life, you will die miserable. Stop saying no to going out because you can’t eat any food off the menu!

5. Spend more time with people that make you happy

Find people that make you happy, make an effort to spend more time with them. It is that easy.

6. Listen to music you love

Create a playlist with all your favourite music, listen to it often.


Small things you can try to do every day

Some of these smaller things can be done on a daily basis….

  • Stop drinking shit coffee. Start drinking good coffee.
  • Greet a stranger
  • Help someone
  • Smile more
  • Take more photo’s
  • Google things that interest you
  • Learn a joke
  • Stop complaining
  • Start living
