Bye Bye Polony

Polony, also know as Bologna sausage and the root of listeriosis, is a processed meat.

Anyone that knows me will know that I can’t stand anything fake.

Fake food. Fake Advertising. Fake People.

Fake meaning anything modified or not in its natural state.

When they are advertising certain foods as low fat, sugar free and the “healthier” option, they are bullshitting you. That’s more lying than your mom did to you as a kid.

Remember when you were younger….

Mom : You can come out from under there, I won’t hit you

Me: *Comes out gets hit anyway*

She just said that to trick you, and that’s exactly what the “healthier” marketing strategy is doing.

These “healthier” low fat, sugar free foods are pumped full of shit.

Not proper shit, but something pretty much just as horrible.

So what exactly is processed?

  • These are foods that have been altered
  • Foods that have added salt, sugar and fat to make it taste better
  • Foods that have all kinds of additives to extend the shelf life
  • Canning, freezing, and anything that is not fresh as f&*k

100% Fruit Juice – Yeah, they are probably lying to you

Some examples of processed food: (The list goes on and on, find more on Google)

  • Breakfast cereals
  • Cheese – Not the cheese that Sue likes
  • Tinned Vegetables
  • Bread
  • Ready Made Meals
  • Pies
  • Meat products
  • Flavored Nuts
  • Margarine
  • Microwave Popcorn 

Not all processed food is unhealthy

Some foods require some level of processing, just to make them edible. For example, pasteurization of milk is an important process to ensure that the milk we drink is safe for consumption.

Real Life Example:

“Sue’s milkshake brings all the boys to the yard”

This is all lies.

The boys are in the yard because Sue is a slut and has fake tits.

Moral of the story

Don’t be like the boys and fall for the fake things because they look and taste “better”.

Go for real, even though real is boring old Sally from down the road, go for it, at least you know what you are getting.

All things in moderation though

Try find “That Sugar Film” and watch it. It definitely is an eye opener.

    I totally agree on the fake foods thing… to a point.
    Once I got diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes I legitimately cried. I cried… hard. It meant not being able to eat my favorite foods on demand, and much less so in a way that was even enjoyable to me (I can have my once in a blue moon junk food like pizza, but I have to pick between the 3 bites of pasta I can have, or the breadstick with marinara… THE CHOICES!).
    But since switching over to a lighter carb diet, and a higher fiber diet, I still craved the old yummy delicious things in life. So enter cauliflower.
    I wanted mashed potatoes with my world’s best meatloaf… but mashed potatoes means sugar overload for Baby and me. So I looked up mashed cauliflower. I felt like such a schmuck for using cauliflower in lieu of potatoes, but hey, YOLO.
    I found a recipe that used literally only one serving of butter, one serving of sour cream, and one serving of cheese (FOR THE ENTIRE BATCH) to fake the flavor of loaded mashed potatoes. And actually, sure enough, I almost like the mashed cauliflower better.
    Lesson learned. Some substitutes you simply can’t knock until you try it.
